Sometimes when working online you need to change a PDF document to a JPG file. Online design programs like Canva can’t use PDFs (although Canva can change JPG files to PDFs AFTER editing). This sounds like a really complicated process, but it’s very easy to do, and it’s free. In the mini tutorial below, you will learn how to convert a PDF to JPG.
1. The first thing you need to do is go to PDF 2 JPG. It is an incredibly easy PDF to JPG converter.
2. I find the PDF 2 JPG webpage is pretty cluttered, but the site is so easy to use that it’s worth it.
Go to the middle of the page, to the spot that looks like this:
a. Go to the left side of the screen and click on “Choose a PDF file”. This will let you choose the PDF document from your computer that you want to convert.
b. Now go to the right side of the screen, where it says “JPG quality.” In the drop down menu, choose “Excellent – 300dpi – rich illustrations, high quality JPG.” This is important or your converted image won’t be crisp and clear when printed.
c. Look to the left side of your screen again. Under “It’s almost done!” click on “Convert PDF to JPG.”
4. Near the top of the page, under “JPG Pictures” you can either “View” or “Download” your new JPG image.
Note: This site also lets you download your image as a ZIP File, if you want. Just go to “Zip archive” and click on “download your pictures as a zip file”.
You now have a JPG copy of the original PDF document, and you know how to convert a PDF to JPG (with a totally free PDF to JPG converter). If you decide to try these steps out, stop back and let me know how it goes.
